Tom Buckalew

Tom Buckalew taught Social Studies at John Glenn from 1968-2009. As a wrestler he placed second in the State Championships in 1963 while attending Flint Central High School. In 1967 he was fourth in the NCAA College Division National Championships for Eastern Michigan University.

He was the Assistant Wrestling Coach at Glenn from 1968-1982 and Head Coach from 1982-1990. Among the team accomplishments during those eight years are: 

• Four League Championships 
• Three State District Championships  
• Dual Meet Record of 112-39-2 
• Ten Wrestlers who earned All State Honors
